Jen Hamilton Questioned if She ‘Was Going to Live’ Amid ‘Terrible Things’ Leading to Split From Husband

Lifestyle influencer Jen Hamilton told fans she questioned whether she would “live” through her split from estranged husband, Brian Hamilton.

“There were a few moments I didn’t know if I was going to live, OK? As you find out new information, that feeling of not being able to live gets pretty strong,” Jen, 37, said in an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, July 21. “This video is for the both of us.”

Jen, who confirmed via TikTok on June 15 that she was splitting from Brian after nearly 15 years of marriage, added that meditation was one of the “five Ms” currently helping her cope. (Other Ms included “meds,” a “mentorship,” “mingling,” and “Megan Thee Stallion.”)

“Recently my meditation has been ‘THANK GOD’ that you know about the terrible things that have been done to you because you are able to remove yourself from that situation,” the social media star wrote over footage of herself explaining the art of meditation.

The labor nurse, who is currently taking time off from her nursing work, also reflected on the events of recent months while maintaining her connection with followers. “The stuff that is going on in your life, you did not ask for. You didn’t ask for any of this stuff. But not only are you taking what has been shoved up your butt, but you’re also doing life. Because you have to,” she continued before speaking directly about herself. “You may be able to distract me from my joy [but] you cannot have it.”

Jen also revealed that she’s joined a support group as she navigates life, which includes coparenting the former couple’s sons, Ellis and Luke. “I literally joined a support group that I’m going to be joining tonight,” she said. “Just for what I’m specifically going through. Because I know that I’m not alone.”

Jen’s separation announcement arrived as a joint statement from Brian. “Yes, we are separating,” the June statement read. “This comes with enormous pain for the both of us but also gratitude for the 15 years of shared history, love, and friendship. What we are committed to is loving each other well through this transition and placing the wellbeing of the family we created at the center.”

While the pair initially appeared to be amicable, Jen’s more recent social media posts have hinted at drama in her marriage.

In a Tuesday, July 14, TikTok, Jen shared that she had been deeply distraught over previous actions. “Me crying for weeks about a man I was loyal to for 15 years who wanted everyone but me,” she wrote over the beginning of her clip before then opening her eyes as further text popped up.

“Remembers … I’m a #1 NYT [New York Times] Best Selling Author with the phattest ass,” the text read as Jen is seen standing up from a chair and mouthing “What the f***” while looking out in disbelief. (Jen published Birth Vibes: Stories and Strategies for an Empowered Birth in May.)

“I am not worthless,” she also captioned the post, which attracted more than 235,000 likes in just three hours.
