Jennifer Aniston’s boyfriend, Jim Curtis, is opening up about navigating new fame.

“To be quite honest, that was something to get used to,” Curtis, 50, said on the Tuesday, September 8, episode of “The Jamie Kern Lima Show” about making headlines with his and Aniston’s romance. “Because I’ve been pretty public for a long time but never this level or this, kind of, segment. I’ve never been in the Hollywood kind of trades, the press. No one has really cared who I’ve dated in the past. So that was an adjustment for me, but it was a real learning experience, too.”

Curtis shared that he learned a “lesson” that it “doesn’t matter what people are saying or thinking or doing,” but that his work and who he is helping is what “matters most.”

“Don’t Google yourself again, Jim, to see what the news is saying today. And that took like, you know, three or four months. And now, the kind of thing if a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, doesn’t make a noise,” he said. “I told my family, like, ‘You don’t need to send me the latest shot of me on a boat with my stomach hanging out’ type of thing. These are just private moments any couple have and [fame] just kind of highlighted.”

Curtis said he will receive messages from family members asking, “Did you see this one?”

“And I’m like, ‘OK, that’s great. Thank you so much. I’m so blessed.’ Right? I’m so blessed to have people care about what I’m doing and also this furthers the message of how I can help people,” he said. “And also sometimes it’s not for our highest good, and you don’t need to send it to me.”

Aniston, 57, and Curtis began pursuing a romance in 2025 after meeting through mutual friends. Earlier this year, Curtis got candid about the pair’s “original story.”

“We found out that we had mutual friends, and we started to just chat,” he said on a January episode of the Today show. “And it took a long time. We chatted for a long time, and we became close.”

While Aniston was previously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 and Justin Theroux from 2015 to 2018, Curtis tied the knot in 2003 with Rachel Napolitano. The pair welcomed son Aidan during their marriage.

“I’m so proud of my son, Aidan,” Curtis said on Tuesday’s podcast episode. “He’s away at college in his freshman year. He’s got his own job. He bought himself a car, and I’m so proud of him. He’s an amazing kid.”
