The cast of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is ready to say goodbye to MTV with one final Sunday dinner.
In Us’ exclusive sneak peek of the Thursday, September 3, finale of the reality show, the entire cast travels back to where it all began at the Shore House for one last feast.
“For the first time, we don’t know when the next family vacation is,” DJ Pauly D says in the sneak peek. “Before we all leave, let’s go back to where it all started.”
A montage of clips from the past 17 years plays as Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Deena Nicole Cortese, Angelina Pivarnick, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola look back on the show that changed their lives.
“This is the last episode of Jersey Shore that will be aired on MTV, so it’s a farewell to MTV,” Jersey Shore creator and executive producer SallyAnn Salsano exclusively tells Us.
At the same time, a source shares that “cameras won’t be down for long,” and fans may want to stay tuned for where this cast goes next.
Jersey Shore first premiered in 2009 and followed a group of young adults living together in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Cameras would roll as the cast would hit the local clubs, work on the boardwalk and participate in plenty of gym, tan, laundry.
Along the way, iconic quotes were created like, “Where’s the beach?” “Cabs are here,” “It’s T-shirt time” and “The comeback is greater than the setback.”
“I keep thinking back to the beginning of Jersey Shore. We picked each of these funny, completely unique personalities one by one because we saw something special in every one of them,” Salsano, 52, says in a statement. “They walked into that house as complete strangers, and somehow, right before our eyes, they became a family.”
More than 300 episodes later, Salsano and viewers at home watched the cast “grow up, fall in love, get married, have children, become incredible parents, build businesses and experience so many of life’s biggest moments together.”
“Somehow, I got lucky enough to have a front-row seat for all of it,” she continues. “Tonight we close this chapter. But anyone who knows this family knows one thing for sure. You can’t keep them away from each other for long. Stay tuned.”
The Jersey Shore: Family Vacation finale airs on MTV Thursday, September 3, at 8 p.m.
