A mother and her teenage daughter were shot dead inside their Missouri home by a neighbor who stopped over to complain about a “dispute,” police said.

Robert Winkelman, 73, walked down the street to his neighbor’s House Springs, Missouri, home and confronted 38-year-old Jessica Lashly about what was going on at her house on July 25, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said.

When Lashly responded, Winkelman pulled out a gun and shot her in the head.

When the victim’s 17-year-old daughter, Jersey Greer, tried to help her mother, Winkelman shot her in the head as well, the sheriff’s office said. A third person was chased by Winkelman as he was armed with a gun but wasn’t shot. Lashly and Greer died days later at a hospital.

When deputies arrived at Winkelman’s home and moved to confront him, he turned the gun on himself.

He died at a hospital Aug. 2, according to investigators, who said he would have been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.

According to reports, investigators said Winkelman initially went to Lashly’s home to complain about noise. A spokesman for the sheriff’s office characterized the incident to Fox News Digital as a “dispute between neighbors.”

Investigators learned that Winkelman had “ongoing frustrations” with activities at Lashly’s home.
