Skip Bayless Blasts Patriots’ Drake Maye After Disappointing Super Bowl Outing

Drake Maye might wish he could hit the reset button after his first Super Bowl experience ended in a 29-13 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Maye faced a tough challenge passing for 295 yards and two touchdowns. However, he also lost a fumble and threw two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.

Even though Maye finished second in MVP voting this season, his playoff performance wasn’t impressive. As a result, the sports talk show host Skip Bayless is reverting to Maye’s original nickname, calling him “Drake Maybe”.

“I’ll go back to my original nickname for Drake Maye before his draft: Drake Maybe,” Bayless wrote Sunday on X.

Maye had many doubters heading into the 2024 NFL Draft, and many of them were silenced by how well he played this season. But even though Maye played a vital role in leading New England to the Super Bowl, his performance in the three playoff games leading up to it was far from stellar.

Bayless enjoys making controversial remarks, and bringing back the nickname “Drake Maybe” for Maye after a couple of rough games against strong teams is sure to ruffle quite a few feathers.
