Taylor Frankie Paul is speaking out after her ex Tate Paul attempted to get a restraining order against her.

“I spent the day crying and fighting for my 2 older children,” Taylor, 32, wrote via Instagram Stories on Friday, July 3, in reference to her and Tate’s kids: daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 6. “They had returned yesterday after being withheld and they were expressing how excited they were to spend this year with me doing fireworks.”

The reality star got emotional about the coparenting challenges she has allegedly been facing with her ex.

“Their dad even told me we could EXTEND it to Monday so I relayed them the exciting news just for him to take it back?” she claimed. “It was lies to them and my gut was wrenching to witness them cry, confused and asking why…”

News broke on Tuesday, June 30, that Tate, 32, filed a temporary restraining order in a Utah court, with a hearing requested. He also filed a petition to modify the terms of their divorce and custody agreement.

Tate’s request was ultimately denied one day later.

“As Tate himself recognizes, many of his supporting allegations are based upon inadmissible hearsay, without any corroborating evidence,” court documents obtained by Us Weekly on Wednesday, July 1, read. “Many of the concerns, like the children not doing well in school and expressing sadness will require ongoing attention not remedied with an emergency order changing custody.”

The statement continued, “The court acknowledges that what he is allegedly hearing can create anxiety, but contrary to the claim that the children are in immediate danger, Taylor proffers that Tate left the children with her from June 11 through the 17, 2026, while he went to Iceland. The court cannot find an immediate and irreparable harm as contemplated by Rule 65A, and the motion is denied.”

Tate has since filed a motion for reconsideration and submitted several exhibits. This comes as Taylor is still entangled in legal issues with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, with whom she shares son Ever, 2. The former couple were previously granted temporary restraining orders against each other following several domestic disputes.

Amid the drama, a source told Us on Wednesday that Taylor recently voluntarily checked into a rehab facility that provides mental health treatment, on the recommendation of her doctor.

“She is focused on doing the work with her mental health professionals and checked in for a voluntary stay,” the insider shared. “She has since been cleared and departed. Her priority remains doing the work on her mental health and being a good mom.”

Taylor made reference to seeking treatment in her social media post on Friday.

“I had my kids taken for doing the right thing… why would I ever ask for help again?” she continued, claiming that she was “clean” aside from prescription medication and accused her exes of being “controlling.”

“This is abuse by proxy,” she alleged about an unnamed former partner who she claimed displayed signs of “coercive control… aka abuse.”

Taylor continued, “He begged me to tell him what I went through… He lied, twisted it, and then teamed up with the person that did it to me.”
