According to a report from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, the anticipated deal between RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim for Fisnik Asllani has fallen through due to medical concerns with the striker:
🚨❌ Official: The Fisnik Asllani deal with RB Leipzig has collapsed due to medical concerns.
Everything had been fully agreed. Leipzig wanted to trigger the €25m release clause.
The transfer is now off. Asllani will not join RB Leipzig and stay in Hoffenheim. 🇽🇰
Just a day after 19-year-old attacker Yan Diomandé left RB Leipzig to go to Real Madrid, it was thought that Asllani would exit Hoffenheim to help replace the production that was headed out the door with Diomandé.
The situation is concerning for the young attacker, who had 11 goals and eight assists in 35 games across all competitions last season. Hopefully, this issue is not serious enough for Asllani to be concerned about his future.
