WWE Raw Results, Winners And Live Updates On July 6, 2026

WWE Raw Results | July 6, 2026

  • The Vision def. The Street Profits | WWE World Tag Team Titles
  • Sol Ruca def. Raquel Rodriguez | WWE Women’s IC Title
  • Rusev and Ethan Page def. Chad Gable and Dragon Lee
  • CM Punk def. Sami Zayn | WWE Undisputed Championship

CM Punk returned to beat Sami Zayn for the WWE Championship, his eighth world title. WWE Raw featured new WWE champion Sami Zayn’s first world title defense in one of the more intriguing matches of 2026 as Zayn was scheduled to defend against Cody Rhodes. Zayn’s feel-good win in Saudi Arabia triggered garden-variety panic from the fear-based Internet Wrestling Community, who refuses to enjoy any moment. Instead, many hardcore wrestling fans prepared for the worst and assumed Zayn’s first world title run would be a short one—similar to Darby Allin’s short run that proved to be a ratings dud in AEW.

CM Punk Beats Sami Zayn For WWE Championship

Given the circumstances, fans had reason to be nervous about Sami Zayn’s first—and possibly only—WWE title defense. This proved to be the case, but the result—CM Punk’s surprise return and subsequent win over Sami Zayn—was every bit as thrilling for Chicago as it was heartbreaking for Sami supporters. A similar situation played out ahead of WrestleMania 42 this year when Drew McIntyre dethroned Rhodes on Raw from Berlin, Germany in January. McIntyre’s run lasted just two months as Cody regained the world title shortly before WrestleMania.

The WWE Undisputed Championship is a SmackDown title which was defended on Raw. This also raised red flags for some. WWE explained this in storyline as SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis’ suspension has opened the door for Raw GM Adam Pearce to book the best show possible with a WWE Championship match on Raw. WWE is going to need all the help it can get with one of the most important World Cup games in history airing head-to-head as the United States takes on Belgium for a spot in the elusive Round of 16.

A Sami Zayn loss will certainly inflame a vocal minority within WWE’s fickle fanbase. The loss will also cause resentment from fans who will consider Sami’s special moment just that—a moment. And one WWE coldly moved on from.

WWE Raw Results, Winners And Highlights On July 6, 2026

Gunther Destroys Cody Rhodes, WWE Title Match In Jeopardy

  • Sami Zayn pulled up in a convertible while brandishing his newly won WWE Championship. Zayn told “The Goldenboy” Cody Rhodes that he was not going to just swoop in and regain his world title. Before Rhodes could respond, Gunther came flying in and attacked Rhodes.
  • Gunther told Sami Zayn that Sami didn’t have to worry about Rhodes. Gunther is now his biggest problem. With that, Gunther slammed a car door on a bloodied Cody Rhodes. It’s very likely that Rhodes will not be competing for the WWE Championship in tonight’s main event.

LA Knight And Seth Rollins Exchange Words

  • After cutting one of the best promos of his entire career last week, Seth Rollins cut one of the more forgettable promos this week. Before he could even speak, fans chanted for CM Punk, and Rollins started off on the wrong foot by brushing off Punk, saying he did not care about that man. This was the wrong city to start a promo like that.
  • Seth Rollins droned on about how Roman Reigns brags about working 10 times less while making 10 times more. The highlight of this overdrawn promo was Rollins calling out Reigns for his “bulls—t,” which he said uncensored on Netflix.
  • LA Knight interrupted Rollins and added some much-needed fire to this segment. Knight talked about how everybody is tired of Rollins and Reigns feuding for the sake of Shield nostalgia. A very self-aware promo from Knight and the WWE writers because fans were cheering. Seth Rollins said that while he didn’t like Knight, he was open to defending the world title against him should he beat Roman Reigns.
  • After Seth Rollins left, Jimmy Uso stuck Knight with a superkick. Later on in the night, Knight tried to run up on Jimmy, but was met with a pounce by Jacob Fatu.

The Vision Def. The Street Profits As Maxxine Dupri Turns Heel

  • Before the match, Paul Heyman warned Theory to come back with something worthy or don’t come back at all.
  • After a Blockbuster Doomsday Device, Montez Ford followed up with a tope to the outside. Logan Paul hit the ring with brass knuckles. The referee took the brass knucks, but Theory had a new set of knucks. Angelo Dawkins absconded the brass knuckles, but Maxxine Dupri came flying in and gave him a low blow.
  • Theory and Breakker won the tag team titles, and Maxxine Dupri dove into Theory’s arms and the two made out. It looks like Chad Gable isn’t going to be reconciling with Maxxine Dupri anytime soon.

Match Grade: B-

Sol Ruca Def. Raquel Rodriguez

  • Michael Cole noted that this was the second “scheduled” title match, with emphasis on the word “scheduled” since Cody Rhodes’ availability for the WWE Championship was still in question.
  • Sol Ruca looked much smoother with a beautiful dive to the outside on Raquel right before the break. Sol followed up with a springboard crossbody on Rodriguez for a nearfall.
  • The Judgment Day got involved, but Iyo Sky evened the odds with a moonsault to the outside. Sol caught Raquel slipping and gave her a Sol Snatcher for the win.

Match Grade: B

Paul Heyman Calls Out Oba Femi

  • As fans chanted for Oba Femi, Paul Heyman mocked the rising star. Heyman said he thought Oba thought he was “King Schlong.” Heyman claimed that Oba has only inspired and motivated Brock Lesnar to return from retirement.
  • Heyman said Oba Femi made the biggest mistake of his life by accepting this challenge from Brock Lesnar. This brought out Oba Femi’s entrance and all the Oba signs throughout the crowd that came with it.
  • Paul Heyman ran down the history of Hell in a Cell, namely the fact that Brock Lesnar beat the Undertaker twice in Hell in a Cell. Heyman called the cell the “Brocktagon.” Heyman said Lesnar is the mountain that Oba cannot climb.
  • Oba Femi said that after weeks and weeks of calling out Brock Lesnar, he finally showed up. That tells him that every word he said got to him. Brock can pretend that he doesn’t watch the show tells him he definitely watches the show. Femi said Paul is less than an advocate, he’s just a mouth.
  • Oba Femi said neither Undertaker or Randy Couture is Oba Femi. Oba said this is the final chapter and where the book closes. Oba vowed to beat Brock in front of his friends, his wife and his children. Oba told Paul to tell Brock “I’ll see him in hell.”

Ethan Page And Rusev Def. Chad Gable And Dragon Lee

  • Fans actually chanted “Rusev Day” early on in the match. Ethan Page pulled off a great heel maneuver by wearing Green Bay Packers colors in Chicago. I’ll never have any complaints about that.
  • After a flurry of moves, Rusev went for the Accolade on Dragon Lee in the middle of the ring and Dragon Lee surprisingly tapped out. Fans booed as Rusev kept the hold locked on. Gable came from behind and tried to hit a German suplex, but Page interrupted. Rusev put the Accolade on Gable, but Joe Hendry made the save to a nice pop.
  • Ethan hit an Egoplex on Hendry and Rusev went for the hat trick with a third Accolade on Joe Hendry.

Match Grade: B-

CM Punk Returns And Beats Sami Zayn For The WWE Title

  • Jackie Redmond confirmed that Cody Rhodes would not be competing in tonight’s WWE Title match due to his injury form earlier on in the night. As Adam Pearce scrambled to find a replacement, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis emerged with an alternative: CM Punk.
  • Fans were 100% behind CM Punk, chanting his name before, during and after the bell rang. Sami took over the match early on as the announcers questioned CM Punk’s ring rust.
  • Punk rallied, but Sami cut him off as he went to the top rope. Fans booed vociferously. Sami hit a picture-perfect superplex as both men laid out ahead of the final commercial break.
  • Sami Zayn hit a GTS on Punk for a nearfall. Punk answered with a Blue Thunder Bomb, but back came Zayn with a GTS and a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall.
  • Punk moved out of the way of a Helluva Kick and answered with a Helluva Kick of his own followed by a GTS for the win.

Match Grade: B+
